When someone tries to “minimize” your loss or grief process, they usually don’t mean harm—perhaps it is a lack of knowledge or an understanding bereaved people need to process their loss on their own terms and in their own time.

Grief is not an illness. It is a normal, healthy process where we embrace the mystery of losing a precious person.

So don’t push yourself to meet another’s timetable. Walk your path at your own pace as you need and feel comfortable.
